WELCOME!

Greetings from Greenwich, Connecticut! As your Conference Chair, I’m delighted to welcome you to First Congregational Church of Greenwich July 10-13, 2024 for the UCCMA National Conference. One of the oldest UCC churches in New England, First Congregational Church was founded in 1665 and celebrated its 350th anniversary in 2015 with extensive renovations to the Meetinghouse, 3/58 Austin pipe organ (built in 1978 and renovated in 2018), and church facilities and grounds.

The church is completely accessible and offers plenty of parking.

The building is air-conditioned.

Your Conference Committee has been hard at work since June to create a meaningful and enlightening experience for our first in-person gathering since 2019, and the members of First Church are gaining momentum as they prepare to host folks from around the world.

“A Place at the Table” is the official theme, and all events in the conference have been crafted with that theme at the forefront of our minds. From our amazing clinicians and interest session leaders to the social and community engagement, we’re confident that you will return home with a number of exciting ideas to share with your local congregation.

Please consider making “A Place at the Table” National Conference a priority in your personal growth plans for 2024. And why not extend the time in the New York City area by coming early or staying late and combining the conference with vacation time? With a little research, you’d be surprised at how you can spend time in NYC on fewer dollars than you’d think! There are a zillion things to do in the Big Apple that are completely free – window-shopping, Central Park, touring some beautiful places of worship, exploring historic neighborhoods like Chinatown, Little Italy, Battery Park, and the 9/11 Memorial. And at $3 per ride, the NYC Subway system is the best way to get around the city and avoiding traffic jams!

You’re in for a magical time and we hope to see you in July!!

New this year!

To help spread the word about UCCMA and what our mission is about, we are opening our vocal and handbell choirs to the local tri-state area! What better way to let our congregation members know a bit about what their musicians experience at conferences they attend. The cost will be $20 per person. It’s important (particularly for the handbell choir) that the community members participate in the closing worship on Saturday at 11 a.m.

As we get closer to the conference, information will be posted here on how to register for the choirs. Plant the seeds with your music ministry participants now and make plans to attend.
